I've had a chance to play Elden Ring Incantations and have found it to be one of the most captivating, immersive games I've played in a long time. In Elden Ring, players take on the role of a hunter who is tasked with saving the world from an ancient evil that is about to break free from its prison and destroy everything in its path.

The Good

The game has a beautiful world with a lot to explore and discover. The music is phenomenal and the sound design is fantastic. The combat is also very well done, with lots of different weapons and armour to find. One of the best parts about Elden Ring though, for me, was the multiplayer aspect; there are some really awesome quests that can only be completed in co-op where you have to work together with your friends to progress through the story. However, there are also some downsides too. I found that the loading times were fairly long for me when playing on my PS4 Pro so that may be an issue for those playing on other consoles as well.

The Bad

What I didn't like about Elden Ring is the lack of a tutorial. I found myself often confused and lost, not really understanding what I needed to do. One of the other things that bothered me was how buggy the game was. The first time I entered a fight, my character just stood there doing nothing. It took me 20 minutes to get him out of his idle animation so that he would attack the enemy. Plus, there were also some framerate issues with this game. There were times when my game would lag for no reason at all and it made playing very difficult and frustrating for me. The only thing good about this game was how it looked graphically. The graphics are amazing!

The Bottom Line

When I first heard about Elden Ring, I was skeptical. The Dark Souls games are my favorite in the series and although there are more titles on the way to fill out the trilogy, this felt like a cash grab. But after playing Elden Ring for myself, I can't deny that it is an incredible experience and one of the best games of this generation. There are plenty of lore references from Dark Souls to make fans feel at home as well as new mechanics that will keep gamers engaged for hours. It may be too challenging for some players but if you're looking for a challenge that will have you up all night trying to beat it, then Elden Ring has got you covered!
