Shee Vaneer Shrine: A Gamer's Review
Shee Vaneer is a shrine that’s easily overlooked by those traveling through Haafingar, the northern-most Hold in Skyrim. It was built in the memory of Thane Vaneer who was killed during the Great War against the Aldmeri Dominion but most don’t know that it was actually Jarl Vlindrel of Riften who commissioned this shrine to appease his wife's desire to have something built to honor her late husband. If you want to learn more about Shee Vaneer Shrine, read on for my full review!
The Story
Shee Vaneer Shrine is a Shrine from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. It is located on the southern peak of Dueling Peaks in West Necluda. The Sheikah Monk Shee Vaneer offers a trial and he will give a Spirit Orb to Link upon completion of the "Twin Memories" trial.
The Gameplay
I am going to start off this review by saying that this is one of the best games I have ever played, and I am not just saying that. This game has so many secrets to be found and different paths to take, it will never get old. The gameplay is addicting and challenging at the same time which makes it a game worth playing over and over again.
The first thing you do in the game is create your own character which is really cool because you can choose what they look like, their class, their name, etc. You then get thrown into the world where you have to try to survive as long as possible while also finding out who did this to your world.
The Graphics
I had never heard of Shee Vaneer Shrine until I saw a gameplay video on YouTube. The graphics are done in a cartoon-like style that brings out the innocence and curiosity of children. There are items to find, puzzles to solve and monsters to defeat, but the focus is on exploration and puzzle solving rather than fighting. I found myself frequently laughing at the silly dialogue lines, like when we first meet the toy maker he says You're not my dad! This game is designed for gamers who want a break from more intense games but still want some challenge.
The Sound
I've been playing video games since I was very young, and I'm what you might call a hardcore gamer. My favorite types of games are RPGs, action-adventures and survival horror. The first time I ever played Shee Vaneer Shrine was when my brother downloaded the demo on his laptop while we were staying at our grandparents' house. We spent hours talking about it over dinner that night and then dove right in to playing it as soon as we got back home. I loved how it felt like an old school game but with modern touches like awesome graphics.
The Final Verdict
The Shee Vaneer shrine is an interesting instance that brings a more lore-based questing experience to the game. I enjoyed exploring the dungeon and completing the quest, but it wasn't as challenging as other dungeons in the game. The reward was also quite lackluster. If you have time and want to see some of Morrowind's history, I would recommend going there. Otherwise, keep on walking past on your way to Vivec City.
