Tekken 8 is Going to be Insane with Unreal Engine 5

Tekken 7 might be getting plenty of press, but it’s still one of the older fighting games out there, and now it’s about to get some competition from the next game in the series: Tekken 8. While we don’t know much about it, except that it’s going to be an Unreal Engine 5-powered game, we do know that will be pretty awesome. I mean, how can you not love Unreal Engine?

What’s so special about UE5?

Unreal Engine 5 has a lot of new features that will make gameplay more realistic than ever before. For example, the game will have advanced AI and give players the chance to create their own campaigns, giving them the opportunity to explore unique worlds in a way that was never possible before. Players will also have access to new animation tools and incredibly detailed character models that can animate at 60 frames per second. This means players can expect lifelike movements from characters when they’re hit or even when they walk around environments. Plus, you won’t have any lag between your inputs and in-game actions - meaning you’ll never miss a beat!

Why does it matter for games?

Unreal Engine has become the go-to engine for AAA titles, and it's not hard to see why. It was developed by Epic Games, a company with over 20 years of experience in the industry and an excellent reputation for developing cutting-edge engines. With the latest version of the engine, Unreal Engine 4, or UE4 for short, Epic has made graphics rendering faster than ever before and now supports many different platforms. This means that we can expect Tekken 8 to look better than ever before on both PC and consoles!

How does this apply to Tekken?

The Tekken series has had seven installments and a plethora of spin-offs, ports and updates. The latest game in the series, Tekken 7, was released on June 2nd 2017 by Bandai Namco Entertainment. The game was previously built using Epic's Unreal Engine 4 but now has been confirmed that the eighth iteration will be built from scratch with Epic Games' new technology - Unreal Engine 5. Rumours about the new engine have been floating around for a while as people have noticed that it is being used for some of Bandai's current projects such as Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown and Soul Calibur VI.

How did they get their hands on UE5?

We don't know how they got their hands on UE5, but we do know that the game will have better graphics than any previous Tekken game. The game will also have a revamped fighting system and new characters. With all these new features, it's no wonder that players are excited for this upcoming release. If you're like me, then you can't wait for Tekken 8 to drop!

What can we expect from a UE5 powered game?

It's a bold move for Bandai Namco Games to take the Tekken franchise away from their own engine and start fresh. Tekken 7, which was built on the Foundation engine, was a hit game, but there are plenty of things they can do with Unreal Engine 5 that they couldn't do before. UE5 offers much more sophisticated character animations, as well as better lighting and effects. The game should have even better looking backgrounds and environments than ever before. It will be interesting to see how this move pays off for them in the long term.
